Vocabulary and Glossary

The following terms and phrases are used throughout the Super-ExMerge documentation:

SyncTask

A SyncTask object describes a sync task. This object type is created by the New-SyncTask cmdlet, and is returned by the Get-SyncTask cmdlet.

TokenizedPath

A tokenized path is a folder path where the common and system folder names of a path are replaced with a language-agnostic ‘token’ for the folder. For example, \{Inbox}\FromJoe, shows the language-agnostic text of {Inbox}. For a list of all tokenized names, click here.

MessageClass

Every item in a Microsoft-based message store has a property called the MessageClass. This text property provided a hint as to how to render the item for view. Common classes are: IPM.Note, IPM.Appointment, and IPM.Contact. There are many other “standard” classes and 3rd party vendors can create and use their own values as well.

TrackingTable

A set of data that stores linking information that allows for Super-ExMerge to understand the relationship between folders and items in a source and target store. This tracking info is what enables Super-ExMerge to provide synchronization features such as deletes and updates to items. When an item or folder is copied/created, the item IDs for the item is stored so that upon a subsequent execution the application can know that item A from Store-A is linked to item A in Store-B.

Refer to the specific vocabulary page for TrackingTables for greater detail.
