The Public Folder Analysis Toolbox requires a valid license in order to collect and review data. Licenses are issued with a 12-month expiration and are limited to the Exchange Oranization(s) in which it will operate. Licenses are ‘host-specific’, but can be transferred to another host if needed.
Licensing Tasks
Create New License Request
In order to receive a valid license, a “license request key” must be generated. This request key encrypts and stores the requested Exchange Organization(s) for the license, as well as the company information. A license key is then generated from the request which can then be installed.
Install License
Once a license key is received, it can be installed. License keys are host-specific and can only be installed on the host from which the original license request was generated.
View Installed Licenses
This will show the current license that is installed, including the expiration date and the Exchange environments in which it may operate.
Import/Export License
If the host currently has a valid license, it can be exported to a file which can then be imported onto another host. In order to export a license, the “hostkey” of the receiving computer is needed. The host key can be seen at the bottom of the main licensing form (see above).
As such, the import/export routine is a 3-step process:
- From host that will receive the license, copy the HostKey value.
- From the host that will export the license, click the Export License button and paste the HostKey value.
- On the host that will receive the license, click the Import License button.
