Automating Exchange 2010 and 2013 setup requirements for the Priasoft Migration Suite for Exchange

We have developed a Powershell script to automate the requirements for Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013 source/target setups. This script will setup a remote PowerShell session with an Exchange 2010/2013 server and then prompt you for a name that will be used to create a windows service account for use by the Migration Suite for Exchange.

The script has the following assumptions:

  1. The user name provided does not exist and needs to be created or the user name provided has been created already using this script and needs its setting refreshed.
  2. The User account provided to the credential prompts within the script for the Exchange 2010/2013 server has the necessary rights to execute the script. Must be a domain admin and also have rights to Exchange 2010/2013 (NOTE: if this is a new installation you should use the user that was used to install Exchange 2010/2013)
  3. Scripting is enabled in Windows PowerShell
  4. You are running this script from a host that has Windows PowerShell V2 and WinRM installed. (Note: Windows 7 already meets these requirements out of the box)
