Supported Scenarios Speak with a Technical Expert Microsoft Exchange Modern Public Folders
  • A Microsoft Windows host to install and run the Priasoft applications
    • Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019
    • Windows 8.1, 10, 11
  • .NET Framework 4.8
  • MAPI (provided by MS Outlook)
    • For any scenario with Exchange 2007
      • Outlook 2010 only
    • For any scenario with Exchange 2010 or Exchange 2013
      • Outlook 2010, 2013, and 2016 only
    • For any scenario with Exchange 2016 or Exchange 2019
      • Outlook 2010, 2013, 2016, or 2019, or Office 365 Outlook
    • For any scenario with Office 365
      • Outlook 2013, 2016, 2019, or Office 365 Outlook
    • 32 or 64 bit
  • Recommended Specs
    • 8 cores
    • 16GB RAM
    • 20GB free space (thick provisioned disk when virtual machine)
  • Virtual Machine Support
    • Yes: any platform
    • Host should be static (no v-Motion or load balancing)
    • Virtual hardware should be pinned to physical elements and reserved when possible.
      • No dynamic RAM, Network, or Disks
    • Do NOT exceed physical layer elements
      • If physical host only has 2 sockets, do not create an 8 socket VM, 1 core each.
      • If physical host socket has only 4 cores, do not create a VM with 1 socket with 8 cores.
  • Connectivity
    • Priasoft applications must be able to make simultaneous network connections to source and target Exchange servers.
    • Local windows firewall can interfere – recommended to disable
    • Network firewall can interfere – recommended to review and setup bypasses where necessary
    • Latency influences performance more than bandwidth.
      • Office 365 should be at 20-50ms or less from migration host.
      • On-premises should be at LAN speed (< 1ms) for source side and WAN speed at less than 50ms for target.
  • Access and Privilege
    • Migration tools require admin access to on-premises Exchange data.
      • Admin rights for MAPI are unique and special. Priasoft support will provide live session guidance.
      • Office 365 requires Owner rights to all public folders. Priasoft support will provide live session guidance.
    • Separate logon accounts are used for source and target environments.
